Choosing where to post
If you have a question, start in r/NFLNoobs: it is set up for exactly that, and with about 11 new posts a day there are plenty of people around to answer. Asking the same thing in r/nfl often gets it removed or lost among the 205 daily posts. Competition for attention differs a lot: r/NFL_Draft has 782.1K members but only about 4.1 new posts a day — roughly one new post for every 190.7K members — while r/nfl gets about 205 a day, one for every 63.1K. A strong, well-made post therefore has more room to be seen in r/NFL_Draft; r/nfl is better when you want quick replies. Jokes and memes have their own home in r/nflmemes; the serious communities tend to remove them, so keep the two apart. Rule sets vary: of the communities we have rules for, r/nfl lists 10, against 4 in r/NFL_Draft, so a post that is fine in one can be removed in another.
Before posting, sort a subreddit by “Top” for the past month: it shows in a minute what that community rewards. Always read the rules in the sidebar first — each community is run by its own volunteer moderators. Our guide to searching Reddit explains how to dig through any of these communities, and the subreddit info tool gives you the stats of one we don't list.
