Best Investing Subreddits (October 2026)

Most investing talk on Reddit happens in a few big places, but the smaller communities are where the specialists are. We checked the communities Reddit returns for “investing” and “stocks”, kept the public, safe-for-work ones with at least 25,000 members that are still posting, and ranked the 10 that remain by size. Together they have 22.8M members.

How the investing communities compare

Membership is concentrated: the three largest communities hold 75% of all members on this list, so most of the investing conversation happens in a handful of places. Size and activity don't line up perfectly: r/stocks has the most members, but r/IndianStockMarket gets the most new posts (about 138 a day, against 48 in r/stocks). Among the communities we track weekly, r/IndianStockMarket grew fastest recently (+0.34%, +4.6K members since Oct 19). The oldest is r/stocks, founded in 2008, and every community here is more than five years old — this is a long-established corner of Reddit.

Choosing where to post

If you have a question, start in r/investing: it is set up for exactly that, and with about 20 new posts a day there are plenty of people around to answer. Asking the same thing in r/stocks often gets it removed or lost among the 48 daily posts. Competition for attention differs a lot: r/StockMarket has 4.1M members but only about 18 new posts a day — roughly one new post for every 224.6K members — while r/IndianStockMarket gets about 138 a day, one for every 10K. A strong, well-made post therefore has more room to be seen in r/StockMarket; r/IndianStockMarket is better when you want quick replies. There are regional communities too — r/IndianStockMarket and r/phinvest — which are the better choice for local prices, shops, events or rules. Rule sets vary: of the communities we have rules for, r/StockMarket lists 10, against 6 in r/realestateinvesting, so a post that is fine in one can be removed in another.

Big subreddits give a post the widest audience, but they also bury it quickly; the mid-sized communities on this list are usually friendlier for questions and first posts. Always read the rules in the sidebar first — each community is run by its own volunteer moderators. Our guide to searching Reddit explains how to dig through any of these communities, and the subreddit info tool gives you the stats of one we don't list.
